About BOPS

On behalf of the BOPS Board of Directors, I would like to welcome you to BOPS. As the parent of a band or orchestra student, you are automatically a member of BOPS. Our organization exists to support the Dominion High School band and orchestra programs through fundraising and volunteer activities.

BOPS organizes several fundraising initiatives throughout the school year, including TAG Day, holiday gift wrapping at the mall, concessions and ticket sales, and our annual marching band competition in October. Proceeds from our fundraising efforts go toward providing music instruction through the DREAM Program, financial assistance for students in need, purchasing new instruments, attire, and performance materials, and reducing individual costs for band-related travel for competitions and music program trips.

BOPS parent volunteers are the backbone of the operation. Our band and orchestra programs could not provide the variety of valuable experiences and assistance to our students without parent participation and support. There are many different ways you can get involved, so be on the lookout for Sign Up Genius notifications for upcoming opportunities. If everyone pitches in throughout the year, our program will benefit from the show of community support, the depth of knowledge and experience you can provide, and the sense of family that our students have come to enjoy.

We hope that all our band parents will join the directors of the band and orchestra and the BOPS Board of Directors in helping to make this a memorable year for our students.

Again, welcome to the band and orchestra family! We look forward to getting to know you and your students!

Sincerely,
Katrina Clippinger
President
