VMBC and the Dominion Marching Titans welcome you to the 2021 VMBC Loudoun Invitational at Dominion High School! When you arrive at Dominion High School, the Director or Assistant Director must check-in at the designated registration area. At that time, you will receive your Director’s Packet containing: wrist bands for the director(s), assistant director(s), and additional staff members (if requested); complimentary tickets (wrist bands); map; competition schedule; and other pertinent information.
If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Ryan Rowles (rrowles@lcps.org).
Your band should arrive at least 1 hour and 20 minutes prior to your scheduled performance time. You have a scheduled arrival time, but all groups are welcome to arrive sooner.
Pits will unload next to the warm-up areas. They will load by the stadium. Please keep loading noise to a minimum to eliminate any interruptions to performances. New to 2021: Due to space concerns, all pit vehicles must be loaded immediately after performance and taken off site.
The bus loop is the 2nd entrance to the Dominion campus. Please stop at the registration tent before parking.
Please check in with the registration volunteer upon your arrival BEFORE parking your buses. Check-in is next to the bus parking (2nd entrance from Augusta Drive).
Band escorts will be assigned to each band, with escorts specifically designated for color guard, drum line, pit, and band. They will meet you at the registration area and take you through the various stages of the competition. These guides will have schedules, locations, and other important information to help you and your band during the day. In addition, if you have any questions or concerns that the band escorts cannot help you with, there will be members of the competition staff at the registration area and in the stadium to assist you.
2 large, pre-assigned warm-up areas are designated. The Dominion Marching Titan rehearsal field will be available for visual warm-ups (please do NOT play in the open warm-up area). It is the field next to the bus loop. It is not labeled on the map.
Your band must be at the band entrance gate 10 minutes prior to your scheduled performance.
Synthetic Turf field, power available at sideline. Warm up areas DO NOT have power access.
There will be two award ceremonies this year--one following groups 1A/2A and the other following groups 3A/4A/5A. Prior to the 1A/2A award ceremony, the Dominion Marching Titans will perform for the participating bands and spectators. Bands in groups 1A/2A are asked to leave after their award ceremony due to space restrictions. If you would like to stay beyond your ceremony, please contact Ryan Rowles.
Concessions and baked goods will be available in the stadium during the event.
Admission for spectators 6 and over is $10. Children 5 and under and Adults 80 and over are free.
Due to local ordinances no tailgating or grilling of any kind is permitted on the campus or in the surrounding area. However, concessions and baked goods will be available for purchase in the stadium during the event.
In the event of inclement weather VMBC and the Loudoun Invitational Event Coordinator will contact directors with delay, standstill, indoor performance, or cancellation scenarios.
You will receive a Band Director Badge and your instructors, PIT crew, and chaperones will receive wristbands upon arrival for entrance into the stadium. All other adults must purchase a ticket to enter the stadium as a spectator.
Your band members, bus drivers, and chaperones are invited into the stadium after their performance free of charge. Entrance for band members in uniform, or in a group if out of uniform is through the main gate. While in the stadium, the band members are to sit in groups, with appropriate supervision. Bands may be asked to move to the visitor bleachers if paying supporters cannot find home side seating.
Spectator Parking will begin at Seneca Ridge Middle School and overflow into the Dominion Lots.
We will have an athletic trainer on site if you need assistance.
The athletic locker rooms will be available through Door B3 and there are restrooms in the stadium.
You may send one designated adult to the press box to videotape your own show. Please explain these guidelines to your staff, students, and supporters prior to the event.
We appreciate your cooperation!
